Mourinho £50m Ready for Double Swoop

‘Mourinho’ is targeting two promising young Frenchmen to bring to Stamford Bridge in the new year.

Premier League giants Chelsea are interested in signing both Olympique de Marseille midfield player Giannelli Imbula and FC Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala as soon as the winter transfer window opens again for business for the year in January, according to reports in the Daily Express.

The west London club have been keeping close tabs on both players of late as returning Blues head coach Jose Mourinho looks to add more quality and strength to his first-team squad in the new year.

It had originally been thought that the self-styled ‘Special One’ would be targeting in-demand Juventus midfield player Paul Pogba at the turn of the year, however, it is now understood that Mourinho is not willing to meet the Serie A champions’ reported £40m asking price for the France international.

As a result, the Portuguese is said to have instead switched his focus towards Marseille’s France Under-21 international, a player that Arsenal have also been monitoring of late, and with a contract in the South of France that runs until June 2018, is valued at £25m by the Ligue 1 outfit .

Meanwhile, the Blues are also targeting coveted France international Mangala, a centre back who both Manchester City and Manchester United are keen on signing in January.

However, with a deal at that Dragao that does not expire until the summer of 2016 and a reported buyout clause in that contract valued at a whopping £37m, Mangala will not come cheap.
