Andy Murray Set for Davis Cup Return

Wimbledon champion playing his first Davis Cup tie for two years and will face 16-year-old Croatian Borna Coric

Andy Murray will play his first Davis Cup match for two years against a 16-year-old Croatian today.

The world No 3 will play world No 525 Borna Coric, who won the US Open junior title on Sunday, in the Adriatic resort of Umag.

Coric, who trains in London with Tim Henman’s former coach David Felgate, said: “I don’t think I can win – only if he injures himself.”

Murray, who lost in the quarter-finals in New York, said: “He’s very young and is very inexperienced at this level but I’ll be ready for him.”

Dan Evans will play the second singles against world No 35 Ivan Dodig with Murray and Colin Fleming down to play tomorrow’s doubles.

Britain are aiming to return to the World Group for the first time since beating Croatia in a play-off at Wimbledon six years ago.
